How To Build a Pine Shed
Pine Harbor Shed Co.
|
7. Roof Sheathing:
The roof is sheathed with 5/8" CDX plywood. Nail the roof
plywood with 8d nails every 16" along the rafters. |

Start the first sheet flush with the outside edge of an end rafter,
and flush with the ends of all the rafters it covers.
|

Before you nail the sheet of plywood, check the measurements in
between the rafters at the top edge of the plywood. Make sure they are
still 24" apart or ( 2 feet on center) before you nail off the
plywood. |

8. Trim - Corner Boards and
Fascia:
First we do the corner boards on the gable ends of the shed.
These are the four longer 1" x 4" pieces with a square cut on
each end. Nail all the trim on with 8d nails. |

Install the gable end corner boards flush with the boarding on the
front and back sides of the shed. |

Make sure the corner boards are also flush with the bottom edge of
the boards before you nail. |

Nail the gable end corner boards with 2 nails every 16"
Note: Try to nail your vertical trim in a consistent horizontal
pattern with the nails in the boarding. |
| The fascia boards are the
1" x 5" pieces with square cuts on each end. |

Next are the fascia boards. These are installed covering the rafter
tails flush with the top of the roof sheathing and flush with the corner
boards on the gable ends. |

Nail the fascia boards on with 2 nails into each rafter tail
|

Next are the front and back side corner boards. Nail these on flush
with the gable end corner boards and tight to the fascia boards at the
top. |

Notice how the corner boards and the batten strips are installed
tight to the fascia board. |
