6. Boarding:
The next step is to board in the shed with the 1" x 12"
pine boards. The square end boards are for the front and back of the
shed. The gable boarding is pre cut to the roof pitch, including the
vent holes. Fasten the boards with 8d nails. |

Start the boarding at one side of the back of the shed and work
across to the other side. Use your level to start the first board, make
sure it is flush with the outside edge of the corner post. |

The boarding is applied to the back of the shed using 8d nails. Nail
the boarding to the floor frame, the middle perlin, and the top plate. |

Boarding should be nailed using three nails across each nailing
point. The nails on the outside edges of the boards should be kept
within one inch of the edge so they will be covered when we apply the
batten strips. |
|

The gable boards are nailed to the floor frame box, the perlin, and
to the end rafter. These are pre cut to the roof pitch, and pre cut for
the vent or louver. |

Note: The only boards that should need to be ripped, or cut the long
way, are the boards on both edges of the front of the shed. These should
be cut to fit flush with the corner post framing. |

The front boards are applied starting at the edges of the door
frame. The cuts for around the windows are made by holding the board in
place over the window opening and scribing or marking the board from the
inside along the edges of the window frame. |
