Sawmill Video

Here is a short video of our sawmill that was filmed back in 2000. The quality of the video is somewhat poor. Unfortunately, back in 2000, digital cameras that took video were not as good as they are today. The sawmill is no longer in operation as our production of buildings and sheds and our demand for lumber outpaced the old sawmill.

Pine Harbor Wood Products operated this sawmill for over 20 years. When we started in the early 1980’s, we cut all of our own full dimension lumber from white pine logs. The video shows our sawyer cutting a white pine log to make boarding for our sheds, shed kits, and barns. We also sometimes used the saw for cutting re-claimed beams from factories that were torn down in places like Fall River and New Bedford.

At the time this video was taken the sawmill was powered by a model 671 Detroit Diesel that we obtained from a commercial fishing boat that was scrapped after the vessel was sold to a government sponsored boat buyback program.
